December 2018 Update from Abbott:

Message to Pharmacists: 

As you can see, FreeStyle Libre products are now available in your warehouse.  

Abbott would like you to be aware of some constraints on FreeStyle Libre products:

1. The FreeStyle Libre reader is a chargeable item; it is not provided free of charge.
2. For technical support and warranty replacement, a patient should be directed to Abbott Customer Care at 1-888-205-8296.  Abbott’s recommendation is that pharmacies order FreeStyle Libre to meet patient demand, or pending demand (i.e., prescription refills), to avoid conflicts with these policies. 

Training videos on the setup and use of the FreeStyle Libre system are available online at https://myfreestyle.ca/​en/​products/​libre/​video. FreeStyle Libre sensors are listed on formulary by the majority of private payer insurance plans in Canada.

Patients can apply for reimbursement of the FreeStyle Libre reader separately with their private insurance provider. Pseudo-DINs for the majority of payers and UPC codes are provided below.
