During the valsartan recall, have you been billing a P.O.P to the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care? Please see note from Ontario Pharmacists Association: "In the late afternoon on Friday, July 13, the Ontario Public Drug Programs branch of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care issued Notice No. 18083 that stated that this important work you are doing in advising patients and prescribers on alternate therapy does not qualify under the criteria of the Pharmaceutical Opinion Program (POP). OPA would like to inform its members that we disagree with the Ministry’s interpretation and application of the POP and are taking steps to meet with Ministry officials on this matter. We welcome your thoughts, comments and questions on this matter, and ask that you continue to forward them to [email protected]." Update 07/23/2018 |
